The short version: some links on this site earn LAPEL a commission if you buy something. It never costs you more, and it never changes what we feature.
LAPEL participates in affiliate marketing programs. That means when you click a link to a retailer from this site and go on to make a purchase, the retailer may pay LAPEL a small percentage of that sale.
You pay exactly the same price as you would going to that retailer directly. The commission comes out of the retailer's margin, not your pocket.
Listings on LAPEL are sorted by how deeply an item is discounted, and grouped by the brand's price tier. Commission rates play no part in that ordering. A piece from a retailer that pays us nothing sits in exactly the same place as one that pays us well, if the discount is the same.
We also don't list anything that isn't actually marked down from its regular price. That's the entire premise of the site, and inflating a "was" price to manufacture a discount would break it.
Prices, discounts, and availability shown here are captured from retailers and are accurate as of the last update. Retailers change prices and sell out without warning. Always confirm the current price on the retailer's own site before purchasing. LAPEL doesn't sell anything directly, doesn't process payments, doesn't ship anything, and isn't a party to your transaction — your purchase, returns, shipping, and any dispute are between you and that retailer.
This disclosure is provided in line with the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials (16 CFR Part 255), which require clear disclosure of material connections between a publisher and the merchants it links to. A short disclosure also appears in the footer of every page and next to every outbound retailer link.
